Not really sure what to think of this manga, it's definitely different from what I thought it would be but it isn't bad.

I dont know why, but same with the first chapter this lacks a certain punch that I was expecting.

The way the story is told doesn't flow from the images and panels and certain scenes that I thought would be heart wrenching feels .....lacking

I feel part of why it doesn't punch is in translation since it went RU > JP > EN, and we can only hope it went straight from RU to JP.

After the first chapter I started listening to the book in audiobook form, I like the manga but man do they punch a lot harder when performed the way they are in the audiobook.

Rokossovsky, the front commander in this chapter, was one of the most prominent generals in the USSR after Zhukov, comparable to Konev or Vatutin. He was one of the officers that was sent to the gulag and tortured before '41 and released during the war due to the shortage of qualified officers. Accordingly he was known for being strong-willed and willing to defy orders as well as being a flexible operational thinker, most notably during the planning for Bagration where he was thrown out of the staff meetings by Stalin and kept returning to argue with him until he got his way. Because of this he's sometimes seen by western commentators as one of the more heroic of the Soviet generals, but he was also placed into a position of authority in Poland following the war and was a leading executor of the pro-Soviet political repression there despite being ethnically Polish himself.

Mister, you are wrong. Since 99% of text is taken from the original book it's RU>EN translation copypasted from the English version. Very few lines were translated from Japanese.

just wow. i didnt find the first story to be all that interesting or emotional, but this chapter felt powerful. there's a more human aspect to it. from the Russian soldiers sharing their food with the defeated German men, to that last part she says "I'm burying my love." i feel like the art got a little grittier too, though the women are still drawn in too much of a "moe" style imo. would love to read more of this

I agree with JohnJRenns. This hits better than the first chapter. I almost cried towards the end, to be honest. "Burying my love"...powerful. Perhaps I'll get the original book someday.

@ipmanvsthemask The Author is trying to tell a very important life lesson... If you don't get your way with customer service, escalate escalate escalate, until you get the big boss at the top, and he will be able to fix your problem for you~

all aboard the feels train.
Big necro but obligatory reminder that 1/4th of the Belarusian pre-war population was killed during the war. Very admiring to share food (and make sure there was lard on it) with the German POWs given the entire goal of the nazis to genocide the entire soviet populace and settle the East, as the Heer was full of people high on the Nazi ideology (the clean Wehrmacht myth might've fooled some people).
