I think it'll end up being more impactful this way, when she inevitably finds out on her own. Because it'll also mean that despite her subordinate trying to kill him, he tried to protect her.

I don't think so. There was really no way for her to "discipline" him, because it wasn't lack of discipline that caused it. She extended a hand to someone who became obsessed with her. That person then saw her fiance making her miserable, and decided to take action in secret knowing that she would never ask for it herself. No one around her thought of him as more than a very serious and talented knight, even his comrades. They couldn't imagine the depth of his obsession. They all thought Deculein would be safest with him around.
