Is she considered to be poor?
I assumed she was considered poor since she shared a room with other girls who said that they were peasants on a similar level as Kaye and that only nobles/wealthy families could have single rooms (which I am assuming includes shadow students, even if we only see ada)
And, like, she's pretty clearly meant to be a part of the bourgeoisie, not a true noble. She doesn't have any real, true title, her parents aren't dukes or duchesses or even a lesser noble title. So she's very much not in the highest and most respected class, she's just got good abilities.
sorry, it wasn't too clear for me, but thank you for clarifying!
I was just a little confused, especially because in the beginning it calls her a "princess" (although I realise now that that was probably just a figurative title oops) and it says that magic was really convenient so they became the highest class, which is also why they accept peasants who have a strong enough affinity for magic to pass the admission, which made me assume that her family having many mages —> being able to build up generational wealth and respect since it probably earns a lot of money, esp since it's rare? so yeah ahaha lol
(edit: in chapter 2 it says that "Only one in tens of thousands has the gift of magic. Magic brought convenience to the masses, so the mages became the highest class of society." sorry you probably don't care lol but just thought I'd mention it!)
