It's frustrating that stuff like this misunderstands corsetry so much and continues the spread of misinformation. Corsets were not nearly as restrictive as they're depicted, except for a very brief period of tight lacing which was not common. They weren't rib-breaking restrictive to the point that you could barely do anything beyond existing, they were just another layer of clothing that helped support. Corsets and stays were even used by working class women.
It'd be the equivalent of our descendants looking back and saying "Yes, the bra was so restrictive women's ribs shattered and had to stay bedridden from lack of oxygen." Yeah, you wanna fling'em off when you get home but for the most part they're just there (unless you're improperly fitted for one.)
