Damnnnn, more than i had previously imagined, this series is realyyly deep. I'm loving it even more! If you ponder deeply, the story carries an invisible meaning - it addresses problems in our society and successfully conveys how cruel, corrupt , greedy and manipulative the aristocrats/high society is in the context of middle ages. Aria''s bitterness represents those individuals who have suffered from this man-made hierarchy, inequality and invisible division

I loove the symbolism at the end where Aria's dress is gold + black/white = money/revenge/evil intentions with a hint of white; if u notice there is a lot of symbolism!

@arandomshaman Aria wanted to make money and decided to invest in sugar, since she knows that in the future, there'll be a shortage of it. Because nobles love sweets (and made it a luxury good) it means that they're willing to pay a high price to get some.
Aria decided to buy a lot of sugar, before reselling it for a higher price. The red haired sugar merchant (who is the brother of Aria's maid) is the one selling it, giving a cut of the profit to Aria. The merchant with glasses buys the sugar at a very high price BUT sells it back to other nobles at an even higher price, which means that he's able to make a lot of money.

Lady Isis is a truly pitiful bitch with a twisted logic and mentality. Wtf you mean by “pleasing those above them while controlling those under them” as a general motto for a noble? I know this was probably planted in her since birth considering she grew up in that society, but she’s a grown woman and she’s smart and cunning, it’s not like this mentality was forced on her, rather she embraced it and wholeheartedly believes it. Her looking down on Aria and spreading rumors about her is so scumy and unbecoming of a so-called “noblewoman” like she pretends to be. She knows Aria is pretty and smart and well-mannered, yet she refuses to admit it and continues to hold her false impressions of her as a prostitute’s daughter instead of seeing her true merits, again not that she was forced not to, she choses not to. Mielle is a top tier bitch, but Isis here is just as bad if not worst than her, Good lord!

Our queen Aria, using the nobles' greed to her profit. I love the last panel. Damn.
The nobles are outright shitty people anyway. Why indeed would The prince help the people who did this stupidity to themselves? Those nobles love creating a status imbalance. So the prince made them all equal by all of them not having sugar. Big brain. Ahaha.

I almost pity the distance the author is willing to take to make the FL seem smart, to the point he has to dumbdown everyone else around her.

I’m so happy she started wearing sensible clothes- cause god knows I hated them frilly ones. They did not suit her at ALL
