Its been a while since Ive read the novel and the translation could have been off a bit but shes not part of the direct royal family if my memory serves me right but i think the dukes(?) or Prime Ministers sons daughter. The novel translation wasn't to clear when i read it last, but he father (and grand father) are very important and influential in the other kingdom. They will come into play soon and he father is actively looking for her mom (never gave up hope hed find her again). Aria looks like her father and that will be what starts that ark

They are not related 😊 Her father is from the other kingdom and while what i read she has some connection to Ashers family its like cousins of your cousins kind of deal. No incest just distant family relations. Im sorry if thats not totally clear the translations i read werent too clear to me when i read them.

Short version, Aria's grandma was supposed to marry Asher's grandfather. There's a magic pool on the castle grounds that people who marry into the family bathe in, and sometimes that pool gives people powers like the royal family has. Aria's grandma bathed in that water, but didn't get powers. She ended up fleeing the country and marrying a foreign duke, and the magic from the water stayed in her bloodline until it activated in Aria.
