So the blue stones make heroes stronger and allow them to stop calamities but eventually turn them into the very monsters that the next generation of heroes need to take out?

that’s certainly an interesting cycle and definitely more interesting than the usual trope of the hero becoming the demon lord so the world keeps advancing

The real question is whether Argo used the blue stone knowingly or unknowingly.

So does this mean Argo made the blue stones? Wild Relius eventually learn how as well? Maybe he'll figure out how to reverse them.
Thank you for the chapter!

Oh my god, so that's what happened. Classical Greek Tragedy BS.

Argo created the blue stones to help his allies.

But as with anyone who creates something like that, they quickly discover the ultimate price for using something like that.

Aria, for whatever reason, felt that it was worth it.

And then Argo had to kill Aria.

Hence the story about the Blacksmith killing the Hero, and then Blacksmith becoming reviled and hated as a result.

Honestly, this series continues to be a good example of why the .1 and .2 chapters aren't always a bad thing. This really doesn't feel like 144 chapters of plot development

Both ways are dogshit, but at least if nothing else this way I can properly keep track of where I'm up to. https://www.mangaupdates.com/series.html?id=173196 doesn't let you specify .X chapters currently so you're either forced to not mark a chapter as read until you're sure it was the last part of it, or pay extra careful attention to make sure to notice the second etc parts getting updated.

That's interesting and all but... like, what's the protag's motivation/goal again? I remember it being "taking over the hero's job" or something but isn't he already there at this point?

Yeah he's there already, but it's not like he already defeated the demon lord or whatever source of evil in their world so he can't really quit just yet, especially since they're still investigating about the blue stones' origins. So uhhh probably for now his motivation is doing his hero duties, tending to his shop whenever, and helping his friends.

Thanks for clarifying that for me.
I guess I'm hopping off this series then. I couldn't care less about their world's armageddon or whatever even if I tried :fml:

I... Why is everyone so surprised? Things have been getting foreshadowed from when the Princess first started and had a dream about the past.

Also again, damn if Aria doesn't look amazing as a monster.
