Sure it's objectively good to be out of that debt but you have to love the hubris of main characters for barging into someone's affairs, solving in an afternoon the problem they've been grappling for years, just to act confused when the beneficiary of their unprompted charity is left at a loss over their completely upturned life. Would it have killed her to find Alexa to broach the idea and get her consent before negotiating with the loan shark?

The situation she was in was basically slavery, they have given her back the control over her life. No matter what choice she makes, no matter whom she decides to follow, there are no more shackles binding her, even if she will need help adjusting to the life of freedom.
