initially i thought it was going to be mostly the same story but from Marie's pov, i don't mind this development

This is addressed later in the novels. Marie stuffs herself after getting jealous of Leon ogling Olivia, then Luxion informs her the fat would go to her arms and stuff instead of the chest.
