Honestly it's probably the best option for him. I assume he didn't pay attention to stocks (except for the game) and doesn't have too much knowledge on any normal jobs. But what he does have is 15 years of experience and knowledge of the game, which he can now utilize to get to the top.

If I'm wrong though then yeah, he's a fucking dumbass and deserves wasting 15 years in a declining game.

But, wouldn't such a name become obsolete once even as much as a year of in-story time passes? Since he wouldn't be really a newbie anymore and he might also become mentally stable.
