So, knowing that Gu Kaitian‘s company was under threat by Gu Xing’s mother, Florencia bribed him to falsely announce Meng Nian’s pregnancy. This would ruin Meng Nian’s reputation and hopefully force her marriage to Mu Yang, freeing up Gu Xing to be hers. and even if the marriage didn’t go forward, who would want such a disgraced individual anyway?

Or that’s Florencia’s reasoning anyway. Instead it’s forcing Mu Yang to run away from her family and into the arms of her bodyguard, Meng Nian’s mother to basically stop caring about forcing her daughter to marry, and ironically clearing the board of any obstacle Meng Nian had for snaring Gu Xing, who is completely oblvious to the loopholes she wrote. Sure she had the plot point of Meng Nian’s false pregnancy, she just wasn’t a good enough writer to write the details of HOW it came about!

One by one society’s pretences are getting torn away and Meng Nian has no more need to keep up her ditzy innocent facade. The bunny was in fact a wolf this whole time, and ahe’s now out for blood!

Nice, finally caught up at this chapter.

Honestly, the storyline is a bit all over the place for the to fully enjoy it. The game system penalising her or wanting the characters to not deviate whilst all the time the MC is going on about how much they’ve changed (and she doesn’t even know about the gender switch) is just tiring. Also way more hornier than I expected (fine if that’s your thing) and I don’t think any of those problem elements are going to get addressed half as well as Citrus did, which is clearly so much of inspiration for this manhua.
