I was wondering why she blatantly put her fingers to her lips with the others watching. I mean, of course they'd want to know what was going on, especially after seeing her do that. It'd be really suspicious. But then it hit me. The reason why time magic was used in the first place was to stop time briefly so she could do that without getting caught by the others. All that had been established was that "time magic" was used, but it never explained why it was used. I wish the mage had thought "But...the princess managed to stop time!?" rather than "...the princess managed to do it!?" Okay sure, she used time-warping magic, but in what way? Did she reverse time? Did she stop it? Did she speed time up? Context is important.
