Re3 hardcore was significantly easier than the past few game's hard modes and was actually balanced for a first time playthrough unlike 7 and 2 where you were kind of fucked on a first go. If you didnt play hardcore on a first playthrough you were honestly missing out that shit was so well balanced.

What? Knife was really good in the second remake, you could even realistically kill bosses with it. Even on 60 fps it did enough damage to reliably kill a downed zombie in just 5-6 swings. It also was a very good defensive weapon, since you could use it to counter zombie grabs and then collect the knife back from their corpse.

In the third remake, it's just like trying to kill someone with a spoon, those zombies just won't die no matter how long you stab them. The third game also gave you way more ammo than the second one, so you were never in a situation where you had to use the knife, making it even more useless.
