My guy, if you wanna impress the lady love, you need to master plucking the cicada with a pair of chopsticks like Mr. Miyagi or Musashi Miyam…oh, this is a Kansai manga? Yeah, definitely Mr. Miyagi.

Thanks for the scanlation :D
That was peak. I really don't get how Masuda-sensei keeps coming up with these absolutely peak chapters back to back, with stakes, twists, and character development. Like, where does he get the inspiration for this?! Honestly, I think he would be great at a 4-koma manga: his writing is basically kishōtenketsu already.
Anyways, new character! Narcissistic guy looks like a lot of fun already. This guy is going to be a problem everyone else will have to deal with, for sure.

I would've just crushed it. Insects are only ok as long as they stay outside. Once they get inside, I don’t know any mercy.

Cicadas are starting to appear here in the Philippines. They can't get through my screened windows, but as soon as I try to close my windows to use the aircon (since I have to open the screens), rarely, one of them always seem to be waiting for that moment to waltz right in and be a menace. Like with cockroaches that can fly, of course I'm gonna be running out of the room.

Haven't seen them for a while now after rainy season started recently, so that's great.

Is it true they take years before they emerge from the ground? If so, no wonder they seem to be rare.

Also, that recolored last panel lmao. You forgot to redraw the rest of his head, no wonder glasses guy looks a bit weird.
There are Annual cicadas that burrow into the ground and stay there until the next year and there are Periodical cicadas that spend years in the ground.

According to the Cicada Mania site, In North America there are 25 common species. Periodical cicadas have lifecycles of either 13 or 17 years and are grouped into "broods" based on when the billions of them emerge at the same time. The long delay keeps the number of predators down by not providing a regular food source and the mass emergence results in too many individuals for the predators there are to possibly consume them all.
