@justforthelulz There are more stations later on named after flowers, so you're probably right. However, I don't think that explains why Pensuke is super disappointed in it (they don't mention it being super far away or anything). I was reading it as a pun combining "暇" with " 終わり." Similarly, "bara" (rose) could be short for (work-life) "balance." But, it's also possible I'm reading too much into it.

I really do think it's as simple as that he's at Station A, while his crush and rival are both at Station B.
His overreaction is likely because Penbi-chan's assignment was announced first, so Pensuke was heavily anticipating 'Rose Station' as a result.
