Why would the political marriage be back on the king said he not against the pursuit of true love just that the prince went about it wrong (breaking off the engagement before pursuing that love) due to the scandal this wrong order caused had consequences, the other woman disappeared most assumed out of embarrassment while the prince left the school for a Royal reeducation, it would cause another scandal if they tried to reset uo a political marriage

Ya know what, I didn't see that coming. Also this might have legs if he was found out by her in the early moments of his seduction, then play with his crossdressing with her being the only one in the know. Maybe he says some kind of excuse that if a high profile engagement gets called off, then his love has a chance, as a way to misdirect female MC. It would be a fun serialization if expanded upon correctly.
