I mean It's cute but...this is far and away not a villainess story. She's just bad at conveying intentions and context.

I was thinking the same thing, the description on the main page says: Kiyose Yura. Which they have done a few anthologies and a few series, I like their art.
Thank you for pointing the artist name. I love her works in Lady Rose!

Such a good start! The plot is well paced but has enough development that makes you want to root for them.

Oh hey, I know this art style! It's the mangaka of "Lady Rose Wants to be a Commoner!"!! Interesting that the 2 stories they adapted into a manga both have "rose" in their titles. Above all, they're both good!! This story is well-paced and well-written, not relying on tired tropes to carve its own simple, sweet, and short story with a lovely message. It helps that the FL is instantly likeable, too. The ML is cute, too!

Let me take this moment to promote "Lady Rose Wants to be a Commoner!". Please read it if you haven't, it's completed and it was amazing. It stays true to its title and has an intriguing plot and mystery, as insanely convoluted as it may be.

This was very sweet and had no drama. They both found someone that they admire.

This was a very good start for this volume. Yuri (het) is always a welcome surprise.

I think this would fit into an anthology that is titled: Though I Have a Reputation as a Villainess, I'll Show You I Can Obtain Happiness! instead.
Actually, the term "akuyaku" (悪役) does not mean a villain in the Western sense, but rather an antagonist or the "villainous" role of a fictional work (such as a play, novel, or game). By extension, it can also refer to a role one is cast into, which is what the title of this anthology implies.

(For the Western sense, the "yaku" part, which means "role" or "part", would need to be absent: just "aku reijou.")

A better translation might be "antagonistic [young] lady" — but that's kind of awkward, which is why it isn't normally translated that way. So most of the anthology's stories
do actually fit the theme (although some are stretching it, this one included).
