Competent royals? Shock and awe! In practice, I quite enjoy this one, with both the feeling of everybody actually working together and having a plan, and with the natural chain of events that occur when someone with a high position is problematic. It's a little passive compared to some, but it's still a satisfying conclusion.

For my reference, the best to worst so far:

i've seen the 1st page scene over and over, but this one is still interesting. having heroine to defend the accused villainess and actually want to befriend her is the best. Also the real villainess here is the narator---the sister.

i think what makes the sister pov interesting is that we don't realise her importance to the circumstances until the twist reveal that she was the one to set everything up at the end. i was a bit afraid it would be superfluous like a lot of pov switches can be, but it works here especially for a oneshot hook
