I think it's also ... a common trope I dislike in these - it's a story where a 'princess' does little and gets swept off her feet by someone else solving the problem in the name of love. Sound familiar? Since that's probably one of the most common clichés around, so if you want to do that story, you have to do it very well - and this didn't. The fact that the label 'villainess' is slapped over the 'princess' part didn't change how any of the characters acted.

This one wasn't offensive in how it handled any of this, but it was incredibly generic - a person who saw the princess fell in love, watched her, and came to sweep her off of her feet, while the villains all got their comeuppance through no particular action. It's fine, but falls under the category of, 'Why bother doing this for a villainess story?'. It's pretty close, but I don't think I like this more than the last time it was done.
