Y'know, I'm really somewhat proud of this. Or at least it came so close XD
I was thinking at the end of last chapter along the lines of, "it's a shame this man is going to be presented as a villain because he's 'ugly and fat' (as opposed to being inappropriately forthright), at the same time as a more attractive character would usually be forgiven in this genre (inappropriately) for being so forward.
And then it subverted my expectations completely.
...Well, okay. Obviously not completely. It all came back around to aesthetics in the end, but it at least toyed briefly with the idea of whether maybe could it be, like, y'know, okay for an ugly and a beautiful person to be together...? And I'll take what I can get on that front from this genre. *sigh* A pity it can't go all the way, and say, "yeah, that would be fine".
