She was chatting and laughing with a bunch of monsters (probably what she made her armor from) and seemed to get angry that her friends were killed. She thought the players were weird looking monsters, so it's definitely a reality changing filter.

True but you see that they didn't attack the players for no reason, it was as a summoner who had their summoned "friends" killed for no reason.
