Well it didn't seen like the player was out of their mind, which makes sense since if an effect would cause the players mind to be affected they would be made to close the game, so for players likely there is not any effect other than becoming in a state like a PK'er.Once word spreads of the effects of getting infected, I wonder if players could abuse the defense buff.
From the sounds of it, it makes players look like a weird enemy, but not like any other mob in the game, so it’d be easy to differentiate who is a player when infected. You could operate on prior agreed plans (assuming that communication is impossible while infected) to abuse the defense stat boost for raids and such. The downside would probably be that NPCs are hostile to you, but guilds could likely work around that.
but we saw how she was banned not by the devs directly but by the game itself, which is kinda crazy ... I could believe it happened like that as the investor just last chapter went to show how real the game was gettingWell it didn't seen like the player was out of their mind, which makes sense since if an effect would cause the players mind to be affected they would be made to close the game, so for players likely there is not any effect other than becoming in a state like a PK'er.
Really were we supposed to fell something by the erasure of the player? They were just banned and account ended, it is not like anything serious happened.

You forgot this game in the setting is a ground for AI research as well. As the game getting new patches, the AI became more self aware and replicate our real world system in some way.Well it didn't seen like the player was out of their mind, which makes sense since if an effect would cause the players mind to be affected they would be made to close the game, so for players likely there is not any effect other than becoming in a state like a PK'er.

She was chatting and laughing with a bunch of monsters (probably what she made her armor from) and seemed to get angry that her friends were killed. She thought the players were weird looking monsters, so it's definitely a reality changing filter.Well it didn't seen like the player was out of their mind, which makes sense since if an effect would cause the players mind to be affected they would be made to close the game, so for players likely there is not any effect other than becoming in a state like a PK'er.
In classic ragnarok online there is in game GM characters and they are devs walking around and can ban anyone, I assume this is the case.but we saw how she was banned not by the devs directly but by the game itself, which is kinda crazy ... She was one of the fugitives from the Fairy War, her and her friends did war crimes and then went into hiding, so wanted posters went up in every kingdom, the others have already been caught and either did their time, or were banned. If you don't remember their crime, they did a monster train, leading a ton of monsters towards the whole allied army. That player can't be banned if she didn't break any server rules. Just using elf forest monster materials and going crazy isn't breaking server rules because it was the devs that made the materials have that effect. Having a wanted poster is not an indication of breaking server rules because admins don't need to post wanted posters. They just ban a player from entering the game in the first place, after kicking him/her out. So, a wanted poster and turning hostile are mere in-game mechanics. Who knows what happened to that player, but it's not a game ban or something else server related. Losing the player character and needing to start from scratch would also be pretty rough, considering all the time invested, but if that's mentioned in the game rules that all players are supposed to read, not just skip, then it is what it is. Or maybe she will get a whole lot of loose exp/skill points when creating the new character, so that it will be a relatively strong character from the beginning, avoiding much of the grind to get anywhere.
I get that but the player reaction is what was exaggerated(?).You forgot this game in the setting is a ground for AI research as well. As the game getting new patches, the AI became more self aware and replicate our real world system in some way.
Earth is one of the subject as their AI interacting with him has the most varied reactions. We have to remember the game also have human NPC and players are locked as Human in this game. So using their own ruling system, they just follow the law.
Compared to our RL MMO moderation, they take more flavour approach here.
