Data in the cloud got irreversibly deleted because the file was left open. On top of that, there were no backups of any kind for key data. A junior employee had full access to said key files. Technically speaking, all of this is nonsense. And the thing you pick on is the size of the pen drive?

There are 1TB pen drives, and 512GB can even be very reasonably priced. Should be enough for any kind of project that does not involve video.

What I think is trying to be shown is that she is sleeping with a blanket kind of haphazardly, and he was trying to straighten it out to cover better? But it also seemed like she had sort of cocooned herself, so I'm not sure how he got it off her to start with.
