One of many reasons I disliked the anime, being anime first, then discovering the manga is a masterpiece. They dumb down the characters, make Kaneki more annoying for longer rather than a more complex character, and completely butcher the plot with root A original ending and beyond.

Wish this series had gotten the JJK/DS treatment but it was released too early for the seasonal hype that modern shounen/seinen get.
