For what it's worth, I loved the 1991 drama adaptation and it was definitely what inspired me to start translating the manga in the first place.
Just a magical TV drama in my mind, and not simply a carbon copy of the manga. Highly recommended.

@Chromoz You can watch it online, but it's vastly different from the manga. For example this Rika plotline is outright skipped in the series.
