It's more of teaching all of it then there is no realistic applications for it
Isn't it what physics is for?
I DON'T GET THIS JOKE BECAUSE I SUCK AT MATH
WHAT DO THE SYMBOLS MEAN????
If you're good at math, you don't need to write out everything, and can skip some easy parts.
If you're really good at math, the whole math problem can be the easy part and you can skip it.
The symbols don't really matter, but it's pronounced "square root of 10 minus square root of 2, all of them divided by 2".
It's been 3 years since your answer, so you probably already know what the symbols mean. But just in case, a square root of N is a number that gives N if you "square" it, that is, multiply it by itself. For example, square root of 9 is 3.
Square roots of 2 and 10 are "irrational" numbers that cannot be written down in full. Which is why in math, they just write them down as square roots. (in physics, it is fine to just write down the first 2-3 real digits, like 1.41 for sqrt(2) and 3.16 for sqrt(10)).
