I don't get why so many people keep on bitching about this arc.

Firstly, since it's a page-by-page basis, of course you can't expect it to change gears in an instant, so your complaints before are obviously going to be the same as complaints next time. Repeating the sentiment isn't going to change anything and has only served to bring down the mood for people who don't mind it. Criticism is one thing, but "this is boring/end this arc/beat up the author" contributes nothing.

And on that note, I don't mind this arc at all. It's a cliche, but that doesn't make it bad. It's based on stupidity, but so is the entire story. Rather, it's pretty much exactly what I would expect based on the characters as I know them.

I reeeeally can't sympathize with the dad in all of this... But whatever, hopefully Tomo's gonna arrive to fix the situation once and for all.

Part of the gamer in him is coming out; grind it out while praying to the RNG gods.

IDK about everybody else but to me ... Dad is being a right ASS about all of this. If he can't see the determination in Jun to keep taking an ass whoopin just to date Tomo then he can't see how much Jun loves the girl. Plus, like I said he is gaining a son ... Gourou should stop being an unreasonable ass. However, as luck would have it a Jun boy power up is on the way ... either that or a tag team partner.

people mad about gorou being a dick, but he's being a dad the only way he knows how: being tough as fuck

you know what they say when all you've got is a hammer, every problem looks like a nail

also, tbf, since tomo is tomo, she kinda DOES need to be with someone strong who can help when she does (and she will) get into trouble

So long as he doesn't get injured, Jun actually does have a chance of winning through odds, especially if he learns from experience. Plus, Tomo's dad is older and only getting older still, so every fight is has a higher chance of the father getting injured (perhaps permanently) and losing the next fight.

Each successive fight puts the odds more and more in Jun's favor and less and less in the father's. Still, that father's being an idiot. Jun could date and Marry Tomo even without his input, so long as she's of age. Jun was nice enough to at least ask for approval. Plus, like I've said before, social skills, friends and networking, and earning potential are a far higher sign of strength in modern society than physical power.

Being able to win in a court battle usually means more than winning in a dojo battle, especially in a civilized country like Japan.
