So umm, this is like really good, but the movie of this, at least the first one, isn't that good. It skips some of the best parts and Shibe (the blonde friend) looks like he's 50 with a wig, even though he's supposed to be a high schooler. You can watch it, but read the manga first. Like the manga is necessary because the movie seems more like a recap.

I think this counts as a spoiler , so I'll put this in the box. (spoilers until end of 2nd game)
So the first game is entirely skipped. Just starts at the second game. A lot of the second game's contents were left out and it only stuck to the bare minimum to drive the story forward. The manga revealed Tenji's strategy pretty early on, so it felt like a battle of wits, and when he failed it had shock factor, but in the movie it feels more like a murder mystery, but it was obvious it was Tenji, so instead of "Wow!" or "What?" it was more like "Yeah... um... ok." Also they fuck with the backstories to shorten the time it takes up, so it's less: "all along" and more "out of nowhere". It isn't total shit, though. Yuuchi's actor does a pretty good job for the crueler parts, which is easier on manga cause you can use dark shading, but harder for live action.

You can find the movie on Kissasian.

Just shoot him man, no one can dodge a bullet. And Yuichi is trained in the arts of violence, probably has a good aim.

The second movie is not at all faithful to the plot. You might as well just call it a different story. If you watch it you might think it's partly true, like a remake, but a lot of parts just directly contradict to the story and make no sense. It says a bunch of backstory stuff that either didn't happen and can be proven to not happen, or is so obviously incorrect to the manga that you don't even need proof. I won't spoil in this post, if you want spoilers you can ask, but the movie is not cannon at all. Take it as a fanfiction or something.

You can find the movie on Kissasian.

I don't really give a fuck about the
traitor
. The author really tries to make a big deal out of it. Didn't work.

is it just me or the story is getting into a lot of plot holes to just have a plot twist?

Why does this have a 9??? I agree some of the ideas are cool, and the concept behind the story is interesting but in terms of writing ?? Despite supposedly being friends for years we really never see it outside of a flashback or two in early chapters and even then it feels so fake/forced. None of them feel like friends at all, just people who happen to know eachother from school. Honestly would find it more interesting if instead of being like their parents they werent close at all and were mild acquaintances at best. Also the way women are written in this are awfull. Theyre all caniving snakes or victims of evil men with zero screen time. I guess theres a little ?? more variety in the current cabin game but not really. The short gambler girl whose name I forget is like the only exception who doesnt die or isnt absolutely irrelevant (and even then shes not THERE in the game, just watching) Do we know anything about the "main five" besides stuff about their parents? I guess the smart dude is a stalker but also not really? Shibe is kind of just there to be an inconvience to yukichi who by the way is insufferable good lord. He feels like a middle schoolers revenge fantasy creepypasta oc. Its hard to write a smart/manipulative character I understand, and most of the actual games themselves are interesting and have good strategies planned out by him (even if some of them come out of "we need a soloution so lets pull it out of our ass" territory") idk I just feel like this manga has potentional, but it comes out like soggy junkfood and thats coming from someone who eats up stupid thriller/mystery stuff all the time. There are better death game/mind game/ test of friendship manga out there who deserve a higher rating than this. Id give it like a 3.5? If I can give it anything I like the snobby bowlcut kid, the game with him and his friendgroup is easily the best part of the manga.

The story is good at keeping the tension high at all times, but the plot makes imho very little sense. It is obvious the author didn’t plan much ahead when they started off. Most of the arcs would work better as self-contained short stories, and all the random betrayals, over-the-top facial expressions and unrealistic „I knew you will know I would have known“-style strategy can make the manga feel more hilarious than gruesome as probably intended.

This manga started out as really promising and engaging, but the longer it goes on the more can be seen that it's actually just plain mid. Cheap use of constant plot-twists to maintain tension (like a bombardment of plot-twists to the point of getting old), plot holes everywhere, unlikeable one-dimensional characters that try to be more complex than they really are (even those of the main cast), questionable logic in the ways characters behave, unconvincing and badly-written psychological warfare, shallow relationships that don't make you feel invested in at all, and many more. This can be treated as a read just to kill time when looking into the category of "mind games manga". It can be entertaining, but actually turning your brain on when reading this and you will quickly feel disappointed in its writing. I've had high hopes, and was thoroughly let down.

Good concept, bad execution. (What the hell even is that rock-paper-scissors game...)

What a lame ending to it all.
Feels like the Mangaka just rushed this to meet a Deadline or something.
Yuichi basically gets away scott free, because the Power of Friendship saves the day 🤮.
This Manga went from a solid 7.5 to a 4 for me, especially since everything "just kind of got resolved".
Kei deciding to "just be rich" at the end, was more of a Joke than a serious moment for me 🤣.
