It's probably the version she once had, the first one she happen to have bought that time, then her father threw it away.

*It would be funny if it turns out that the author of Lovemav was her father all along.
This was my guess as well. Someone that knows her well, maybe it was the butler all along.

Dad wrote it as a young man, but now he looks back at it and views it the same way every writer sees their own past work, as fucking cringe. That’s the only reason he got rid of it, not because he thinks manga is beneath them, but because he saw it and it immediately brought him back to what he thinks of as an embarrassing past.

I keep thinking this must be the adaptation of a light novel, if only because I want to read ahead…

If this bro can't turn down his otaku virginity from 15 to like 11, I think I will drop this... thanks for the translation...

Using someone's first name because of circumstances (there are other family member around, having to hide their identitites, etc) then that character is getting doki doki is one of my favorite romcom trope, as silly as it is.

It's like those characters who tried hard to cover up their past phase in life, like those chuunibyou people who kept cringey self-written novels in their notebooks, hidden in the corners of their room 😆

Exactly like that! Seeing anyone you know with the cringey shit you wrote in your youth, let alone a family member, is enough to wipe all rational thoughts from your mind.

And an addition to that scenario for even more shame, since Yayoi looks so much like the Aoi, and also has a not entirely dissimilar name, it’s entirely possible that Dad based Aoi on her mum. Pretty good chance that they could’ve gone to the same school, after all, so if Dad does turn out to be the author, it might just be based on their highschool life. Or even worse, his cringey daydreams of what their highschool life could be if they were a couple even though they weren’t one yet.

Yeah - no wonder the school and everything else is strangely similar to the imagery of the manga. Another clue is that the bookstore where Yayoi bought her first manga is familiar to her family and holds them at high regards. This could either be because they are well-known business people which helped them OR they know what her father created in the past (after all, a good manga also brings good business to a bookstore)
