I guess she wanted something to force her to fail, so people would stop seeing her as perfect, since she couldn't bring herself to do it on purpose?

thank you for translating
I love how this recontextualizes all the early chapters in a way that adds to it. Its such a good explanation to why the famous top girl was so receptive with the weird loner boy on the early chapters.

It also shows how kurokawa has plenty going on in her mind and isnt just a love interest character but instead has depth

True love can be proven once they shatter prophecy/curse/fate itself.
"There is no destiny, Puck. [...] There is no grand design, no script. Only the choices you make. That your choices are so predictable merely make us seem prescient."

No way. Not the next chapter. It's probably a flag for sometime in the climax of the series. Something like her having a seat booked in some foreign university, or her having a marriage lined up, or her having some terminal illness. This flag's not going to pay off in the short term.
I don't see terminal illness being the thing; based on the chapter where they went out and also from flashbacks. I'm betting on the foreign uni or the fiance-from-before-birth trope.
