Ngl, this was kinda boring, maybe because it was expected as a common trope, at least the teacher blushing was fun and Kurokawa emoted which is always nice, also the mention of going to the same uni kinda gives the manga a trajectory and that's good, more solid that some other SoL RomComs. Still love the series though and I'm pumped to discover what's the supernatural aspect related to LovMav

Well, reading it again it may be more progress from Kuro's side than it seems, but still I always end this chs feeling like there was not much progress and wanting more v.v

I am now even more confident that her dad was secretly the author of the manga, that it may have been based on how he and her mother met, and that her grandfather was the reason he threw it away when she got it.

Also, holy crap, it was gonna be that she has to find a husband at that university, right? So she’s straight up telling him “get into this university so I can pick you!”

It's Tokyo University isn't it lol

Also yea I'm thinking she's to find a marriage candidate there, so this is probably big progress

Are we legit never going to get an explanation for the whole "She looks, acts, and talks just like the heroine if this manga!" thing?

Why am I so invested? There isn't anything I wouldn't find in tons of other highschool romance manga out there but somehow I'm still getting by.
I feel the same. If I had to guess it’s because the series feel really earnest. The author clearly loves RomComs not out horniness or some sense of self insertion but because he loves seeing characters fall in love. Perhaps I am projecting though

My two cents:

LovMav was written and/or bankrolled by Grandpa to deal with his memories and regrets of his highschool years and the girl who got away / he never dared to ask out. He lived vicariously through LovMav, and wonder o wonder, his grandchild has a striking resemblance to his lost love who never was. He pushed her into that Highschool and listens attentively to her tales about her Highschool life, maybe at a remove (via the butler).

I think it's the lack of love triangle here. It's refreshing to read something without constant romantic struggles, heart ache and angst once in a while.
