The mother seeing that they were about to win the bet by the skin of their teeth

Honestly, great way to lose contact with your daughter after she turns 18 and leaves the house

What a terrible spot to end 😂 curse cliff hanger I want to know what happens now!

And ofc the mom pulls this crap! “I’m the only one who cares about this future nonsense” when she has blinder on and can’t see how miserable she is

what's funny is making it in classical piano is almost just as tough or harder even if you start from a young age and are a prodigy. this plot aspect never made sense, in fact, i'd say going viral and making it off of youtube is somehow more grounded in reality than making it big as a classical music artist.

Way way harder than pop music. You're competing for a few thousand jobs in city orchestras, or tens of thousands of jobs teaching in colleges, or maybe you form a chamber group and release records. But classical European music is a zombie art form that very few people keep up with. It's more niche than Jazz, which is also a zombie medium.

Pop music though? Indie artists struggle, but there are millions of mid-level artists who make a living, and tens of thousands of artists who make it big. Mom has some weird bias about classical music being superior, and it's delulu.

I can't lie it's a weird pursuit, if she's not already competitive with the elite by her early teens then it's really odd to try to get her to focus on it at end of high school age range.

I can get the not caring about going viral because it's a generational gap. I feel like you should just communicate how viable it is to use that as a jumping off point to further success and likely even a record deal of some kind. There's countless examples, shit Justin Bieber was found on old youtube before you even had the modern concept of virality.

Nice chapter, I was ready to have a high score girl ending to the airport chase.

Thanks for the TL
