Why can't they be honest about their feelings?
Lol...because then we wouldn't really have a story now would we? It kind of is unbelievable that 2 dorks like this would NOT recognize that they have feelings for each other, but like I said if they were to be honest we would lose the story and the tension. Although, I for one, look forward to when they are ACTUALLY a couple and the weird and silly adventures they go on while dating,,,if the author allows it to continue after they get together.
But, I also wonder if the whole reason they don't want the other to know is twofold: embarrassment (which is unfortunately normal for romcoms like this) and a sense that their social standings are different so they "shouldn't" be together. Eguchi is a very pretty girl, but she also gives off the air of studious while Ikezawa is the normal pretty boy who could be popular. Their standing socially is quite different and I have to wonder if the hesitation is just because they don't see how they COULD be together. At this point we are pretty sure they are together without making it official anyway.
But really the above is just being generous when the reality is the story demands they both be super dense.
