Romance manga/anime are so weird when it comes to people getting sick. Like "oh I'm flushed and my heart is racing!" No! It sucks! Who's thinking about that when they're sick? Who's thinking about that when someone else is sick?

Plus despite dealing with a pandemic recently, they still often get the causes wrong...oh, they stepped out into the rain or wore clothing that was a little too light, instant cold. But then the lover stays with the sick person in a small room for hours and they're fine. At least I will give this story credit for acknowledging that Ikezawa could totally catch it and a mask would help prevent that (although it's better for it to be on the sick person).

I don't know why these tropes persist so much when we are so aware of how wrong and dumb they are.
