Jokes aside, are there schools that actually enforce semestral seat changes? Because back in my Senior High School, we have the same seat arrangement for the entire year. I've only seen this seat changes in manga, so I'm wondering if this is the case with Japan and other countries.

Back in elementary school, we change seat everyday. So we rotate the row everyday, front-back, then change the column, left-right, every week.

Generally, we actually don't really have a seating ceremony. We just sit wherever we like, and that seat become our permanent seat throughout the years.

That's different from it being confirmed above the POV of an in-story character.

I'm of the stance that she's a yokai, but I do think there is a difference between it being stated by someone in the setting versus an outside observing narrator.
