Yeah.. but you know that the Fenrir is his familiar, right? You sure we reading the same story?@miyako19 You're entitled to have your opinion. It however in no way changes what I think about it. If the MC didn't want the griffon to die, he should do it with his own power, which he obviously doesn't have. He instead imposed his ideology onto someone else who actually has the power to make those decisions. He's a child that thinks people should do what he wants them to do, and that they should live how he wants them to live. That makes him a weak, pathetic, pussy in my book.
He didn't just walk up to him and start telling it what to do. Fenrir was the one who chose to approach him and become his "familiar", thus giving MC the power to be a shot-caller.
I do not understand how you fail to grasp something this simple. I say this as an individual who hates characters who actually are "soft" and show undeserved forgiveness to assholes who deserve to beaten half to death.. if not straight-up slaughtered on the spot. Yeah, I'm an advocate of vengeance and violence when not inconvenient or anti-strategic.
But what you're saying is just a whole fucking NothingBurger™ if you have to ask me. By your logic.. those cowardly nobles—who were trying to kiss up to MC in order to take advantage of Fenrir's power—are not actually "weak" since they have a lot of manpower and rule cities. Basically big time shot-callers. Yet that noble's spokesman were seemingly ordered to negotiate directly with MC and didn't give Fenrir a say.. and ran off as soon as Fenrir actually spoke for himself. Cowardly behavior if you ask me.. unlike MC who actually stood up to Fenrir a few times using the logic "if you don't listen to you you get no food". A true coward wouldn't dare do that, even if they held all the cards.
Also, undoubtedly MC is a bit of a coward.. but it isn't unreasonable for him to be scared like he is now, especially of an especially powerful monster. Can't expect him to just act nonchalant even with protection from Fenrir (who's prone to screwing up anyways) or within a barrier at times. Someone could be completely safe in an underground shelter and still be absolutely terrified as a tornado passes over, since they are really fucking scary and sometimes FAR more that most people think. I'd be willing to bet money you in particular would (metaphorically, or maybe literally) shit your pants if a "violent" one directly passed over you being in that scenario...

Anyways.. you have no valid reason to criticize MC given his circumstance. That is, at least until he actually becomes strong and starts showing forgiveness to absolute dipshits who don't deserve it. Really damn annoying "hero ideology" trope that is beyond lofty.
