Nah, you'd only use it for finishing blows, to preserve it for as long as possible. You don't want the magic wearing off, or the weapon to be damaged to the point of uselessness, when a perfectly mundane weapon would work on other monsters. Think like The Witcher with the silver and steel swords. COULD use the silver against men, but it'd dull and/or scrape off the silver and/or damage the blade (same with steel against monsters), so just use the right one for the right enemy.
