I don't think that is how conductivity works. Wouldn't high-conductivity Mythril ore channel the magic through the shield and directly into the target?

Edit: Talking about page 7, btw.

I think he meant dispersing the magic. The front side is mithril and the back side is leather or something low-conductivity. Magic go around the shield, not through it. With the right curve on the shield, the magic get dispersed away from holder.
