It's going to the moon, not to Pluto. Last I checked, there's no body in the Earth-Moon system to get a gravity assist off. So that's Hohmann or low-thrust spiral. Fair enough, there's also low-energy ballistic capture (Belbruno et al.), for example, which is a bit more complex, but only if your logistics really require you to take the savings it brings (dubious, given how you now look at not just days but months of life support). It doesn't magically negate the need for them entirely.

I love how realistically they depicted the headmaster being absolutely oblivious to how learning how to program works, she thinks that knowing how to use a smartphone somehow makes you know how to make one.
