So about the curry... I think I somewhat understand how he came to the conclusion. He most likely considered some of the ingredients of his hotpot changeable which he defined as independent variable. and the way he changed that variables(ingredients) effected the calorie and to balance that he changed some other stuff which he called dependent variable.

So who said cooking doesn't have Math in it. All hail Maths.
