The Princess wants Haru by her side. The only reason she would of sent him is if she thought it was the only choice. She also has supreme confidence in his abilities.

Karen's father may have endorsed the idea to test him or try to break them up. If he did I hope Karen finds out, beats the shit out of him and he isn't forgiven. I've kinda had my fill of possessive/controlling fathers for some reason.
