They probably should've concluded after that arc and spun off/started another series.

tbf ending a series without make it looks like forced ending or "lol, i bet author sucks at relationship story" is also challenge in itself, either way if resuming the story makes plot worsen over times, i just shut my brain, enjoy the fanservice, go to sleep and keep living

Not only that, but Haru didn't get there to convert them...he's a guest (more so, he was chosen by others and he's there for work) so if anything it's them that should have known how it works in the mainland and be welcoming him by giving him a separate room to respect him (and his personal life too)
