At least Mitarai recognised a no good MC and decided to get rid of him, hoping a better MC would be found as a replacement.

This was actually quite an amusing chapter. Normally the MC's uselessness (except when the plot armor serves him) makes him insufferable, but in a chapter like this it was funny to watch him gullibly walk straight into his doom, without suspecting a thing like anyone with a normal brain would in a similar situation.
