A shorter arc for Seita-kun than I expected, but a similar effect that Goro and Kogane's kindness has an effect on him. I bet we do see him again at a point where he can accumulate a lot of positive karma. I also appreciate the slow burn peeling back of the layers of Mogami-sama's plan. Whoever becomes the new god of the land is gonna have to work hard to reach Mogami-sama's level.
Prayers and offerings are the spiritual nourishment kami need to maintain their power. Of course an offering is tastier than something they buy themselves. While this might just be a cover story, Mogami-sama says in chapter 38 that she works in the human world because she wants to buy good booze beyond what her offerings can afford. So, desire for good food and booze and desire for offerings are two distinct things that are better when they overlap.
Thanks as always to sarusa and thumper. Enjoy the bourbon and BBQ, sarusa.

It doesn't seem like he'll be able to get rid of much bad karma at all. He can't even share one piece of the snacks he received with someone who's trying to help him. He's still selfish and rotten.
nah dude you're thinking about it too much, he certainly thinks of the snack as a reward for his sins sohe isn't letting it go because of that

He's even worse if he believes he deserves to be rewarded for his sins.

The reason he isn't letting go is purely because of WHO gave the snacks as a reward for doing better.
Kogane is just encouraging him and the snacks are a little reward towards that goal of redemption. What she doesnt realize is she is giving it to the guy that almost ended her newfound family

In chapter 33 she kept Goro from being pushed by Stalker-kun off the platform into the path of a train after Akane's talisman warned her. Then in Chapter 38 her glasses saved Goro and Kogane from the rampaging cursed Stalker-kun, though not sure how the accounting works there. These are the only ones I can think of... the others were Kogane's family.

Ooh thanks!
I was thinking she saved him from stalker but didnt remember how. Considering she interviened and directly sabotaged stalker-kun's actions, it makes more sense she would interfere again and give him a chance at redemption.

True that she stopped and evil act and saved an innocent, but as a god interfering with mortals it would be a bit unfair to everyone else that doesnt get the same treatment. Its also unbalanced to only help the victim and not do a godly act to save his soul in the future, it would be favoritism to only help one side
