I wish more slice-of-life manga with yokai (or shapeshifting beasts) showed more of those kinds of scenes. So many manga out there are like, "Oh, it's a shapeshifter beast" but they never really show people having fun and playing around with their beast forms...

I cant remember which chapter its kind of explained but its when the old lady neighbor gets eyepain; people need to build up resistance kind of like working out a muscle. Goros dad would need to see more of it to 'get stronger' over time

I think Goro's dad protests too much and understands that Goro should get THAT mad. The Hinomine men put to the test this chapter, which makes it easily one of the most realistic chapters in the series. Ah, being insulted for doing what you're told, the joys of filial piety. More seriously, letting Mom and Kogane play pranks and have fun is Goro and Dad's way of supporting them, like Goro's dad was talking about last chapter. Thanks as always to sarusa and Thumper.

While get that we've seen humans react badly to the presence of Youkai before in the manga, I just have a bad feeling about Goro's dad. If I'm wrong, that's fine, but when Kogane first pointed out that he was really hunched over, then add to that the headaches and exhaustion...
