Yet another edit to explain my mistake: I thought the band was pirate metal, so I alluded towards a different band (Alestorm), but I was wrong

They actually mentioned this at one point - basically Goro has nothing else he really wants to do (like being a baker) and he only has the skills to work at a big Japanese company (and he's kind of good at it!), but all Japanese big companies are kind of like this. Well, maybe he should at least move from this one company to another other one? No, they don't really like people who aren't stupidly loyal to their current company. It's not like other countries where you can just job hop. Why would we hire you when you'll probably leave us too? It's stupid and shortsighted, but that's how it goes.

Yeah, njim has it. Nothing too deep here, Wake of Magellan is just one of my favorite hard rock albums so the lyrics instantly popped into my head. The album is very self aware about basically being a morality play, so it's like a bit in a Shakespeare play where the chorus say 'Okay, now shit's gonna start!'. Like in Midsummer Night's Dream, "The actors are at hand; and by their show, / You shall know all that you are like to know."

Even if she's a new baddie, foxes are better,this is the hill I will die on. But I'm curious page 9 says she "slathered on too much perfume"(I'm paraphrasing) I wonder if she's trying to cover up the scent of death or something? I think she could be a Baku, Onryo, or yūrei but I could still be wrong, I've spent about an hour and a half looking up yokai info that could fit our new baddie's description.

Well, you avoided the obvious reference, and as much as I like The Who, that's probably not a bad thing here as it doesn't really seem to fit outside of that shared phrase.
