If you would compare it to Hellsing Ultimate then Shrein would currently be at the same rank as Seras Victoria after she drank Pip's blood, the first generation descendant of the Progenitor (Alucard/Dracula).

Hmm, well, simple monster evolution seems to be just a matter of skills (MC's level screens don't show any other type of level). Evolution of familiars to higher forms looks like it was a matter of evolved base race, rare skills, divine energy (from the tower artifacts), and compatible goddess blessing (some skills were a requirement for blessing). Mortal race evolution can't be as simple as normal skills like for monsters, or there'd be 1000s of evolved adventurers & nobility. Usually in these stories, mortals get higher tier job classes instead of race evolutions.

I would guess for the girls, a matter of normal skills, rare skills, divine skills and a god(dess)' blessing. Most of the girls don't appear to do any combat work anymore, so I'm not sure they are 'gaining exp' and raising normal skills, though at least they should be raising leadership and administrative skills. Divine skills may substitute for rare skills, or may substitute for the goddess blessing (MC attention may also already grant this). But I have to imagine there's some ritual or ceremony as well to kick start the process.
