Touch navigation for long strip

I do a lot of reading on my tablet and, while Mangadex works very well for normal manga, I'm finding it a chore when reading webtoons. The touch functionality seems to be only meant for page-by-page and not long strip, as touching skips to the next page strip instead of paging down to the next area. Right now I'm using Tachiyomi to read those, as touch works properly there.

Can the touch feature be modified to detect long-strip and change its behavior to accommodate?

Thanks!

@Ooweeoo What do you mean touch works properly on Tachiyomi?

What do you expect it to do? You can turn off turn page by tapping in the reader settings already

@Plykiya I want to use the tap functionality. The issue is that touch advances to the next "page" slice. If the current page slice is longer than what you can see, tapping skips the rest of that page and goes to the next. What I'd like is if tapping advances to the next section without skipping straight to the next page, like hitting pagedown on a keyboard.

if you mean by panel, then the issue is sometimes a panel is split over two images, it's up to the uploader if they want to make each panel a page

@AbyssalMonkey Thanks, that's exactly what I meant. I wasn't suggesting anything in relation to how uploaders format their long strip uploads, more that the touch system accommodate the varying page lengths by ignoring the pages and only scrolling by x pixels. Tachiyomi does this just fine, but I have no idea if that's easy to implement in a web reader.

The problem with the current system is that while it's fine for viewing non-long strip titles in long strip mode, when it comes to actual long strip format stuff moving directly from one "page" to another is arbitrary and meaningless, especially when one "page" can be a mile long

I just thought it would be a great time to support this feature, as long strip Manhwa seems to be exploding in popularity. It would save tablet users from swiping miles when binge reading.
