So why is he small again?
I'm assuming it's a side effect of the worship laundering to send one of the kami down to the mortal realm from 26.5. It also works to make it a bit less creepy for him to have an interest in Miyo I guess.

Susano'o is an asshole... which isn't really surprising as during the explanation of who he is here, they said he killed an earth goddess that gave him shelter because of some perceived(<this being the operative word) slight, he killed the host that protected him in a moment of vulnerability because he thought she insulted him somehow... and no, with this attitude I won't believe that she really insulted him and he was right.

Only a god would treat something that destroys lives on so many levels as a festival, the peak of privilege talking of a blight upon the land like it is something to be celebrated.

So why is he small again?
Omoikane, the little floating bell, shrunk him, how it do that? Omoikane is an artifact(?) god, it has the concentrated "faith" from many kami to allow one kami to walk in the land of mortals, and I presume it can regulate how much "faith" the kami it is bonded to receive in any given moment, and as Susano'o clearly is a prick of the highest order... it is there to babysit him too.

Does the monstrous form/image on page 21 not resemble the endocrine system of the human body? To speak of Susano'o's personality and behavior, it's very hormonal (fight and fuck). Personification may not be the best way to describe it but he is definity acts human in a primal and exaggerated way.

You're exactly right, I'm glad you pointed that out. I thought it was just a strange Eldritch shape, a reminder of what these beings truly are past their human facade. But there is much richer symbolism in it than I realized. Thanks.

The fact that this murder hobo is the most humane of those beings.
Well, no. Amaterasu actually cares for and is quite capable of understanding humans compared to her peers, at least from two chapters ago. Also, Ho-no-Kigunushi (the giant salamander) is both very humane in his outlook and literally sacrificed himself for his worshippers. It's also hinted that Sukuna-Bikona REALLY cares for humanity, which is ironically why he wasn't chosen. Basically this whole mess happened because Ookuninushi missed the hint and didn't choose the most obvious candidate floating in front of him.

Thanks for the chapter!

Was a bit worried at the beginning to where this was going to go... but it hopefully got resolved with the ukehi proposal, and Miko getting out of this situation by herself is cool. I really didnt want to see "this kind of arc" lmao.

Also, no Touge Oni reading is complete without a visit to the comments here, people are giving such interesting insights and historical contexts! Thanks for the comments!
