They humanize the Momos a lot while simultaneously showing us how shitty and vile they can be. It's been awhile but... Have they shown us any vile and reprehensible Oni yet? They all seem to be decent people just trying to survive.

Even when they try to blur the lines to show that things aren't too black and white, having only one side filled with trash people kinda makes that all fall flat.

People tend to forget that the Momos are the bad guys even if the manga give a lot of them redeeming features.
They aren't, though. Your way of thinking is just too simple. You forget that in the eye of the society, the Momo are heroes. Most of them think of Oni as bad and what they are doing is protecting normal humans. It is understandable since Oni can go berserk anytime they experience any negative emotion and kill everyone in sight. Even Oni themselves kill any Oni that can't control themselves. Do you really want to live next to someone that can kill you when they are sad or angry? Calling all Momo bad guys is just wrong. Many of them protect normal humans and don't want them to be harmed. Many of them kill Oni because their families are victims of the berserk Oni. Unless the Oni found some ways to deal with their bersek state, it is clear that Oni shouldn't live among humans.

Society is wrong and misinformed. The Momos are committing genocide, being awful to themselves and Onis and have actively harmed civilians.

Having good PR doesn't make you not the obvious bad guy who's wrong and need to be stopped by the good guy with bad PR.

While I do understand and agree a little with your point to some degree, but I do think momos have the worst quality in what they seem 'justifiable' in their actions but this is not without reason of course. One of the reason onis even go berserk is because momos kill their relatives/people close to them which fuels such intense anger in the first place and that's what we have been seeing on multiple occasions. So saying tht momos kill onis because of them going berserk, can also have an opposite reaction as onis going bersek are victims of momos lack of knowledge and refusal of discussion, which leads to onis last resolution of killing momos to just to survive and prove strength to be worthy of a discussion (if tht makes sense). And momentarily, momos tht are lower ranked (commander, deputies etc) seem to lack the knowledge on onis states of mind during them going berserk, as it featured in the previous chapters tht onis go unconscious when reaching berserk meaning that any actions/harm they inflict is not on purpose whatsoever. Although the momos moto so far has been to save humanity from onis , momos have done considerably more damage to human beings than onis so far (from what has been shown), for example: manipulating/using gang members as bait and scapegoats, using them as hostages, using them to make unethical deals. Even though this is only a small example (as far as I can remember) SOME momos will not hesitate to use humans as puppets within their plan if it means to kill onis or just climb up ranks within the organisation. Not to mention they would also sacrifice their own comrades lives in order to achieve their goal ( this goes for both onis and momos), but this just goes to show how deep rooted the rotting corruption the higher ups in the momotaro Corp have planted in their society in order to eradicate the onis. Pointing out the fact you stated that onis at the moment are not finding ways to control their bersek is entirely false. It's clearly displayed that onis are taught to control their emotions as much as possible to prevent going berserk as it not only affects humans it affects EVERYONE within the range of a berserk oni. Which unfortunately means tht onis have to kill their fellow Oni once they succumb to going berserk. Momos however have no knowledge of this and continue to kill them as they are deemed less than anything. This means that onis have less time to actually figure out solutions as their blood alone is a risk to their life, meaning they are constantly forced to hide and learn to defend themselves instead of aiding the problems of going berserk. Momos are not at fault either since this is what they have been thought to do since gaining consciousness; kill onis no matter what or they will kill you (basically kill or be killed). The momotaro corp also plays a big role as their hierarchy/treatment to their employees? subordinates? Is very dysfunctional and dirt poor meaning they have to kill onis to climb in higher positions in order to be treated kinder or just humane. Therefore, since this a never ending cycle, both momos and onis will keep living in despair and tragedy. It's really sad because both of their lives are relatively similar yet no one seems to sit and listen to eachother (which is really all it takes: a discussion) like Shiki and Mikado seemed to have done. And to make another point, i think that normal humans have little to no knowledge of onis or momos and are just used as an excuse by momos as they are clearly the weaker species of them two. In my conclusion I think both sides are severally misunderstood and this depiction of just 'blurring lines' is really just how both momos and onis are trying to survive in a society that has led them astray and instead put leaders with disgustingly ill and distorted ideals on a pedestal as they like to play God and choose who is and isn't worthy.
